My niece Shannon married Ty Bailey tonight. It was a beautiful wedding. Her cake rounds are cut from trees behind my house. So I like to think we helped make it a beautiful wedding.

261/365: Home for a Birthday Dinner for Me



Paul and Erika Dye picked me up at the airport and took me to dinner for my birthday at the Garden Restaurant on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is good to be home.

260/365: Who's Hungry For Alligator?



At the Chinese Costco (Metro), you can get a some fresh alligator. Yum. Yum.

259/365: Taiwanese Hot Pot

This was a fun restaurant. They brought you all sorts of meats and veggies and noodles. Then you put it all in a boiling pot in the table. So fun!

In addition to fine vegetables and fruits, the wet market offers all kinds of fish, frogs, turtles, and scorpions for all your dining needs.

There's my boyfriend in the background--right after he yelled, "I can't sit in the back! I'll throw up!". And don't worry...they stuck two more people in between us...so we could all be super cozy!

We rented scooters and rode out to a town called Fuli. It is known for making paper fans. We were so a part of the fan-making process.

Meredith and I rode a 12 hour sleeper train to Guilin. It was not neat. But had we known what was to come...we would have appreciated it more.

241/365: My New Dual-Fuel Oven/Range

A few weeks ago, black smoke billowed from my oven and that was the end of that. My new gas range and electric oven are now installed and ready for some serious cooking.
